The 50+ GO DIGITAL project aims to strengthen digital skills among workers aged 50+ in traditional SME sectors. As workplaces adopt new technologies, many experienced employees need practical, accessible support to keep pace with digital change. We focus on sector-based digital upskilling, ensuring training reflects the real tasks found in retail, tourism, agriculture, logistics, and manufacturing. The 50+ GO DIGITAL project is committed to promoting inclusion, lifelong learning, and workforce resilience. We believe that experience is an asset, and with the right support, every worker can thrive in a digital-first environment.
50+ GO DIGITAL Upskilling Hub – The 50+ GO DIGITAL Upskilling Hub is a central online platform that brings together all the training, tools, and resources developed through the 50+ GO DIGITAL project. It offers sector-focused learning modules, practical digital skills training, and easy-to-use self-assessment tools that help workers and employers understand their current skill levels.
For VET providers and trainers, the 50+ Go Digital Upskilling Hub offers a structure framework for delivering digital courses, monitoring learner progress, and validating new skills. By bringing everything into one accessible space, the hub supports lifelong learning, smoother upskilling journeys, and stronger digital capacity across SMEs and their workforce.
Micro-credential framework – The 50+ GO DIGITAL project will develop micro-credentials, allowing learners to earn EU-recognised certificates as they complete different training pathways with the 50+ GO DIGITAL Upskilling Hub. These credentials will help workers validate and clearly demonstrate their digital skills to employers and stay competitive in a changing workplace.
50+ GO DIGITAL aims to support SME & VET providers to strengthen digital readiness across small businesses and training organisations. The project will support SMEs in adopting DigCompOrg to assess digital capacity, identify workforce skill gaps, and plan targeted upskilling pathways. This support is complemented by sector-specific training modules and a micro-credential system that helps businesses align employee development with organisational needs. Through the Upskilling Hub and dedicated EU training workshops, VET professionals will gain the tools, methods, and quality frameworks needed to embed digital skills development into their workforce policies.
The 50+ GO DIGITAL policy recommendations aim to bring together key insights from the project to guide stronger digital workforce strategies for SMEs, VET providers, and policymakers. Through a series of national e-briefs and sector-specific reports, it highlights the digital skills gaps affecting 50+ workers and outlines practical steps to support more inclusive upskilling across industries.
It includes policy recommendations, a sustainability roadmap for integrating micro-credentials into SME training and VET curricula, and findings from national roundtables with employers, educators, and policymakers. Together, these resources will offer clear, actionable guidance to help embed digital upskilling into long-term workforce planning at regional, national, and EU levels.
